🗣️ Call For Central Bucks Schools Resignations

James Short | Central Bucks Now

A Central Bucks School Board member has called for Superintendent Steven Yanni and other administrators to step down, claiming they misled the board about allegations of abuse in a district school.

A special education teacher and aide at Jamison Elementary School were accused of mistreating students. The district conducted an internal investigation that concluded with no criminal charges or discipline for the staffers, but determined there was insufficient classroom management at times, and students did not have basic needs met in some instances such as being left undressed and lacking bathroom access and drinking water.

Jim Pepper -- the lone Republican on the CBSD -- is the parent of a student instructed by the staff members who were subjects of the probe. He alleges district officials covered up abuse and criticized police for not prosecuting the case; other speakers at last week's meeting expressed similar concerns. Some witnesses believe the district may have violated federal and state child protection laws. You can read more about the case here.

🔥 Trash Blaze Spreads To Doylestown Home

James Short | Central Bucks Now

It was a literal dumpster fire.

The contents of trash cans caught fire and spread to an attached garage at a Steeplechase Drive home in Doylestown. The flames were quickly contained, but they did do some damage to the side of the garage.

🐶 Rescue Dog of the Week

Meet Spooky, an 18-month-old English Pointer mix being fostered through Home At Last Dog Rescue.

Spooky was rescued as a stray in South Carolina; she better responds to the name Milly. She is 45 pounds of love and joy and loves to play with her toys and treats. Spooky/Milly also does well with cats and other dogs. She can be a bit skittish with new people, but she quickly warms up. She is crate- and house-trained and would do best in a patient home.

If you are interested in adopting Spooky/Milly or would like more information, you can reach out to Home At Last Dog Rescue at [email protected] or visit the group's website.
