🚨 Beware of ‘bad tows’ trend

Bucks County District Attorney’s Office

The Bucks County District Attorney's Office has issued a formal warning about a rise in tow truck scams — when dishonest operators seek to exploit vulnerable drivers after accidents or breakdowns with inflated fees and unnecessary services.

Authorities said a tow truck’s unsolicited arrival at an accident scene is a strong indicator of fraud. Officials said these operators often listen to police scanners and chase crashes. The DA’s office said police typically dispatch legitimate towing services and to check with cops if unsure. Drivers are also advised to scrutinize paperwork and identify the towing services. More information can be found via the state here.

🦅 Authentic Philly Fan Contest winner announced

Mike Nappi never got a chance to attend an Eagles game with his late father. But the diehard Birds fan kept his promise and brought his dad’s ashes to this past season’s home game against the Cowboys — the type of devotion that powered the local musician and creator of the viral Bird Call anthem to victory in Access Network’s Authentic Philly Fan Contest, receiving the $5,000 prize.

🚘 Fire lane violation leads to drug arrest

An illegally parked car outside the Wegman’s in Warrington turned into a much bigger deal.

Cops were dealing with a vehicle in the fire lane outside the supermarket when they received a retail theft call. They ended up connecting the car to a township resident who allegedly tried to steal about $20 worth of merchandise. Police then found narcotics and drug paraphernalia on Casey Lou Schumann, 38.

🐶 Rescue Dog of the Week

James Short | Central Bucks Now

Meet Henderson, a two-year-old hound mix currently being fostered through Home At Last Dog Rescue after being rescued in South Carolina. Henderson is great with kids, gets along well with other dogs and is very routine-oriented. He can take some time to warm up to new people. He is crate- and house-trained, but could use some work on the leash. He would fit best with an active family or home that enjoys the outdoors.

If you are interested in adopting Henderson or would like more information, you can reach out to Home At Last Dog Rescue at [email protected] or visit the group's website.
