π½ A Look Back At Local UFO Incidents
The truth is out there. And, occasionally, it may have been in Bucks County.
Levittown Now, a Central Bucks Now partner, dug into Project Blue Book, a recently declassified U.S. Air Force study of unidentified flying objects from 1952 to 1969. The operation received over 12,000 UFO reports in that span, including several in the region. Most of them went nowhere, but officials did believe witnesses in Yardley saw a decaying satellite crashing back to Earth in 1967. You can read more here.
π Perkasie Tree Lighting Attracts Thousands

John Worthington | The Reporter
The nation's oldest public Christmas tree lighting ceremony is in your backyard.
Thousands of people swarmed downtown Perkasie last Saturday for the 116th edition of the tradition. The festivities also included aerial acrobats, carolers, horse and carriage and wagon rides, live music and -- of course -- Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Warrington Township Police
It was allegedly a 60-finger discount.
Warrington Police said six people stole over $1,000 from the Wegman's on Main Street in October. The sextet is accused of entering the store, filling up several carts with groceries, taking the merchandise to three cars and then going back inside and doing it again.
Warrington cops are seeking information about the suspects. They also have an active warrant for a Philadelphia woman involved in an alleged theft incident at a TJ Maxx in town; over $700 was stolen and one person has already been charged.

π State Police: DUI Suspect Fled At 130 MPH
A Buckingham man accused of DUI allegedly drove as fast as over 130 MPH during a police pursuit before hiding in his garage, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Troopers attempted to pull over James Michael Houpert, 35, around 3:40 a.m. on Nov. 28 in Doylestown after observing him speeding over 100 MPH. He then increased his speed, leading to a pursuit. State police eventually ended the chase for safety reasons, instead heading to Houpert's last-known address.
A state trooper saw someone run into the garage. When the person refused to exit, troopers entered the garage, found Houpert hiding behind trash cans and eventually handcuffed him after he refused to cooperate. Police said they detected alcohol on his breath, but he refused to consent to a chemical sobriety test.
πͺ Milford Motorists Menaced By Chainsaw-Wielding Man
Well, this is a wild story.
A Quakertown man allegedly smashed multiple windows of a building and a pickup truck with garden shears last week in Milford. He then started swinging a chainsaw at drivers passing by on Brick Tavern Road.
State police said Eric Lee Trainer, 51, was agitated and shouting incoherent statements and obscenities when they arrived on the scene. He then attempted to flee after efforts to de-escalate the situation failed. He was eventually taken into custody after a brief struggle.
Trainer was arrested on $100,000 bail; he faces a felony criminal mischief charge because he fled from state troopers while facing an active warrant from the Bucks County Sheriff's Office.

πΆ Rescue Dog of the Week

James Short | Central Bucks Now
Meet Chloe, a three-year-old American Pitbull Terrier searching for a home through Home At Last Dog Rescue. She is crate- and house-trained, walks well on a leash and loves to run around the yard and play. Chloe is very social and cat-friendly; she does well with older kids. A good home for her would be a family with a yard, but a yard is not required.
If you are interested in adopting Chloe or would like more information, you can reach out to Home At Last Dog Rescue at info@homeatlastdogrescue.com or visit the group's website.
