⚖️ Ex-educator pleads guilty in student sex case

Courtesy of Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office
A former guidance counselor at Pennridge South Middle School in Perkasie admitted she had sexual contact with a 14-year-old male student.
Kelly Ann Schutte, 36, pleaded guilty to felony corruption of a minor of a sexual nature last week in Montgomery County Pleas Court. The incidents occurred between Sept. 2022 and July 2023. Prosecutors said Schutte groomed the child for months.
Schutte faces seven years of probation as part of her plea deal, which was struck a week before her trial date. She can never work in a school setting again, cannot have unsupervised contact with any minors except for her biological children and must comply with all treatment recommendations after a psychosexual evaluation. A state assessment board will determine whether Schutte must register as a sex offender.

🐶 Rescue Dog of the Week

James Short | Central Bucks Now
Meet Helena, a three-year-old Shiba Inn being fostered in Chalfont through Home At Last Dog Rescue. She was rescued from a puppy mill in Lancaster. Helena is very sweet and playful. She can be skittish with new people, but warms up with time. She gets along well with other dogs and would benefit from a canine companion. Helena is crate- and house-trained, spayed and vaccinated. A quieter home with a fenced-in yard would be best for her.
If you are interested in adopting Helena or would like more information, you can reach out to Home At Last Dog Rescue at [email protected] or visit the group's website.
