๐ฅฌ Fresh Foods Program Paused At A Bad Time
The Keystone Opportunity Center is in a jam, and it is asking for the communityโs help.
The social services organization announced its Fresh for All program, which provides weekly produce supplies for families in Bucks and Montgomery Counties, has been abruptly suspended for the remainder of November due to unspecified circumstances beyond its control.
The program is scheduled to resume on Dec. 3. But KOC said it faces "an unprecedented challenge" in the interim during a season when food insecurity often spikes. The program supports over 500 families and over 2,000 people each month; those recipients will be denied about 14,000 pounds of produce typically available to them during the freeze, which includes Thanksgiving.
KOC is asking for monetary donations, as well as produce donations. It is also encouraging community members to organize their own produce drives and volunteer to assist with sorting, packing and distribution -- when Fresh For All resumes operation next month.
Fresh produce and non-perishable food items can be dropped off at KOC headquarters at 104 N. Main Street in Souderton. You can also contact Clarice Foster, the food pantry manager, at at 215-723-5430 or [email protected].

The 32-year-old woman was hospitalized at Grand View Hospital in stable condition with head, shoulder and ankle injuries around 5 p.m. last Thursday. Police said she was traveling through the crosswalk on her scooter when she was struck by a Volvo. The road was closed for three hours; the driver was cooperating with the investigation and no charges have been filed.

Meet Fyodor, a 12-year-old mixed breed. He is living in a Fort Washington foster home through Home At Last Dog Rescue after being found in Georgia as a stray. Fyodor is easy-going, loves people and gets along well with cats and dogs. He would likely thrive in a calm environment.
